Swap and Share
Swap and Share, Worcester and Malvern, is based on the international Timebanking model which uses two way volunteering to reward people for the time and effort they put in to supporting other people and their neighbourhoods.
Designed to strengthen communities and promote self help and mutual support, people are encouraged and supported to share their time and skills for the benefit of others in the community. This could involve for example tidying the garden of a neighbour with mobility problems or teaching someone how to use a computer or helping with a community task such as tidying a local park or decorating a community hall.
For every hour you spend helping someone you are entitled to an hour’s help in return. Everyone has something to offer - dog walking, helping someone with shopping, fixing a fence, mowing a lawn or even baking a cake - the list is endless.
