Community Services

It is generally acknowledged that social links and the friendships and networks we have within our communities play a key role in maintaining our health and wellbeing. For many reasons people can find themselves isolated from their communities and may face very real barriers to making connections. This can be very bad for the person themselves but also for the wider community who do not benefit from the involvement and contribution of those people.

Onside’s Community Services aim to address both of those issues through a wide range of different projects including 1 – 1 mentoring, shared activities and peer support. We support people facing barriers and mentor and support them to become more involved and active and develop the social networks vital for health and wellbeing. We also work with the wider community to encourage mutual support and sharing of skills with the aim of making communities more resilient and supportive.
